Embracing a well-worn decadence
“Wherever Mat and Rose went, they were always dressed to the nines.”
Cousin Christine recalled handing me a picture of my great grandparents, continuing to explain that nobody in her vicinity dressed quite as elegantly as they always seemed to. They were run-of-the-mill, working class Southsiders, but they always made a point to have somewhere to be and dress accordingly, without an ounce of pretension. They simply were; they embodied every shred of fabric they fashioned.
The Essence of Rose
Rose was formulated from this concept of well-worn decadence, imagining the simple pleasure of getting ready. Sitting at the vanity, fingering your way through your wardrobe, becoming someone new for the moment.
